The Renegade Word is a collaborative blog written by a group of individuals. For questions about this blog, please contact the editor, Julie M. Rodriguez.
As you may know, running a website costs money. Sometimes a lot of money. In an effort to offset hosting and maintenance costs, we do run ads on this site for products and services we believe may be of interest to creative writers, educators, and recreational readers. All ads will run in a clearly marked area within the sidebar of the site.
We also may embed affiliate links to books, films, apps, and other products in our posts – meaning that if we mention a book on Amazon and you purchase the book through our link, we will get a few cents from every purchase. We do this because it’s less obtrusive than placing ads within our posts, and allows you to easily find the product we’re talking about. This helps us stay afloat and will eventually allow us to financially compensate our writers.
From time to time, we may write about books, apps, films, etc, after receiving a free review copy of the product. However, we are not directly paid to promote or review any product or company. We will always disclose when we’ve received any complimentary products within the post itself. This allows us to write about a wider variety of topics since we aren’t limited to books and apps we’re able to purchase with our very small budget.
The compensation we receive from these sources will never influence the content, topics or posts made in this blog. We will always give our honest opinion, positive or negative. All opinions and views expressed on this blog are purely those of our writers.
Again, if you have any question or comments about the advertising on the site, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
